Seed Thought

“We at Mīmāṁsā firmly believe that studying socio-political, religio-spiritual and historical realities of India needs a specific Indian lens which incorporates contextual, cultural and geographical specificities of the sub-continent. Post-independence, academia in India exhibited a control of a particular kind of group which attempted to conform ‘Indic studies’ to a particular ideological and methodological outlook. Arguably, this approach was borrowed from outside and ignoring the traditional Indian knowledge system, was juxtaposed to Indian realities, often leading to inaccurate understanding of India. We at Mīmāṁsā strive to bring to the fore the authentic, well-researched and objective alternative which is firmly based on Indic Value System to provide a credible narrative for a substantive discourse.”

Who we are?

We are group of independent individuals committed to know India and its value system in an authentic ‘Indian Way’. We aim to conduct an objective and well-researched study of various facets integral to understand India. We intend to engage into a thorough and substantive discourse which is essential for a genuine Indic Inquiry.

Who we are not?

We are not a “political opinion” website giving perspectives on contemporary political developments. We do not intend to prescribe or proscribe any particular party/organization. Nor do we confine ourselves to the accepted ideological silos. We are strictly ‘apolitical’ but firmly committed to the values that Mīmāṁsā represents.

“Today the increasing curiosity among the people to know more about our Ancient  Indian Heritage needs a definite direction. Often, an inappropriate portrayal of traditional knowledge, due to ignorance or prejudices, leads to polarised opinions and confusion. Hence, a balanced, comprehensive and authentic analysis of traditional Indian heritage should be put forth. To  study the manifold aspects of Indian Civilization is indeed a big task which is undertaken by Mimamsa. I wish Mimamsa all the success!”
